Abstract
We report the case of a 48 year-old woman presently with a pararenal tumor, with a history of pyelotomy in 1978 for the extraction of a renal pelvic s tones. Results of surgery showed a foreign body. The clinical and diagnosti c aspects of retained surgical gauze have been discussed and the need for r adio-opaque markers in them have been emphasiezd.
