Abstract
The ferroelectric behavior of thin films of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and h exafluoropropylene (HFP) random copolymers with two different HFP molar con tents was investigated. Films were prepared by solvent casting using dimeth yl formamide (DMF) as the solvent. The HFP molar content of the solvent cas t films were 5 and 15%. The observed remanent polarization (Pr) obtained fr om dielectric displacement versus electric field (D-E) data for the 5 and 1 5% HFP copolymer samples were 80 and 50 mC/m(2), respectively. The Pr of th ese films is discussed in terms of the HFP molar content. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
