Abstract
The propagation of extremely energetic v(tau)'s through the Earth is studie d by means of a detailed Monte Carlo simulation. All major mechanisms of v( tau) interactions and tau energy loss as well as all its relevant decay mod es are properly taken into account. The detection possibility of v(tau)'s e merging from Earth in forthcoming neutrino telescopes is addressed. (C) 200 1 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
