Abstract
The polarity of sensory bristles on the thorax of Drosophila is linked to t he orientation of the asymmetric cell divisions that partition cell fate de terminants in this lineage. The orientation of these divisions is under the control of the Frizzled pathway that generates planar polarity in a number of cell types.
