Abstract
Sucrose transport is essential for the distribution of carbohydrates in pla nts. Recent studies have shown that a specific transporter protein plays an essential role in loading sucrose into the phloem component of the plant v asculature. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
