The probability of an [FeOH](+) ion charge compensating an Al-T-site f
inding another within a suitable distance, r, with which to form an Fe
-O-Fe bridged species has been calculated. The result is a function of
the iron loading (m) as well as r and the Si/Al ratio (n). The result
s suggest that with ratios commonly employed(11 less than or equal to
Si/Al less than or equal to 25) bridge formation is limited, yet may i
nvolve an important fraction of the iron. Bridge formation in zeolites
having Si/Al ratios of 39 or greater will be extremely rare.
