Spauligodon petersi sp. n. and Spauligodon smithi sp. n. (Nematoda: Ph
aryngodonidae) discovered in the large intestines of Mabuya sulcata an
d Pachydactylus bibronii, respectively, are described and illustrated.
Mabuya sulcata harbored 45 nematodes, P. bibronii 34. Spauligodon pet
ersi and S. smithi are easily separated from the 2 previously describe
d Ethiopian species. Males and females of S. petersi have smooth, fili
form tails; eggs have truncated ends. Females of S. smithi have spines
on a flexible, filiform tails; males have smooth tails; eggs have poi
nted ends.
