Abstract
Acute infective endocarditis affecting the aortic root and valve associated with development of a fistulous communication between the aorta and pulmon ary artery was presented in a young Turkish girl. Emergency surgery was req uired. Operation consisted initially or closure of the defect on the main p ulmonary artery with a pericardial patch. This was followed by allograft ao rtic root replacement.
