Abstract
This study explores content differences in the evening newscasts of the cab le all-news networks and compares the evening newscasts of the cable and br oadcast networks. A content analysis found strong evidence of product diffe rentiation in the major evening newscasts between the cable and broadcast n etworks as well as among the cable all-news networks. Each network contribu ted significantly to adding unique news to the daily television news pool a nd the topics of the unique stories were diverse.
