Abstract
An analytical expression is given to calculate the temporal Fresnel diffrac tive field of a grating illuminated by an ultrashort pulsed-laser beam. Num erical simulation shows that the temporal diffractive intensity distributio n is different from that of the input pulse if the width of the input pulse is within several tens of femtoseconds. It is useful to develop a new simp le reshaping method for an ultrashort pulse from our approach.
