Abstract
Beckett's work - not so much its author - is bilingual: whatever its langua ge, it feels written in it. The choice of such a strategy, grown more consc ious over time, was set by reflections upon the misuse of language and lang uages which go beyond the normal literary sensitivity to the relationship b etween languages and literature: a choice of the best tactic for divergence .
