Background. Formula is a potential source of fluoride. In this study, the f
luoride concentration of different formulas was measured by using a fluorid
e-sensitive electrode.
Methods. The examination of 22 formulae was performed in 1992, 38 additiona
l samples were obtained and measured in 1998.
Results. The results show an overall low fluoride concentrations (below 0,3
ppm) obtained in 1998, but the concentrations were higher in 1992 (p <0.05
).
Conclusions. In conclusion there is no increase of risk of dental fluorosis
from the use of most current fomulae.
