Abstract
This paper explains how curriculum values distilled from educational and nu rsing literature have been incorporated into a new bachelor of nursing prog ram in an Australian University. The curriculum philosophy has been constru cted to acknowledge the current learning climate and diverse learning style s, the active role teachers must play in developing competent nurses and cr itical thinkers, as well as the need to celebrate nursing's diversity whils t building a strong identity. The philosophy of this new curriculum is to r eclaim the human dimension of nursing and inject renewed vigour and enthusi asm into the work of teachers and students. (C) 2001 Harcourt Publishers Lt d.
