The algebra - and thus the very Fock space - of free electrons is assumed t
o be modified by the interaction induced by phonons. The BCS theory of supe
rconductivity is reformulated in a way which allows us to recover all known
features by describing within a unique graded algebra both Cooper pairs (w
hich turn out to be true bosonic particles) and single electrons with the f
eatures of fermions. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
