Jk. Tang et al., Synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of ferromagnetically coupled trinuclear copper(II) complex with 4-(isopropylamino)-1,2,4-triazole as bridging ligands, POLYHEDRON, 20(7-8), 2001, pp. 675-680
A new trinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu-3(patrz)(10)(H2O)(2)](ClO4)(6). 2C
H(3)OH (patrz = 4-(isopropylamino)-1,2,4-triazole), has been prepared and s
tructurally determined. This complex represents the first structurally char
acterized linear trinuclear Cu(II) complex containing triple mu -N-1,N-2-1,
2,4-triazole bridges and showing weak ferromagnetic interaction (J = 1.99 c
m(-1)) between adjacent Cu(II) ions. The central Cu(II) ion is located on a
n inversion center and linked to each of the external Cu(II) ions by means
of triple mu -N-1, N-2-1,2,4-triazole bridges with a Cu-Cu separation of 3.
853 Angstrom. The best fitting for the experimental data gives J = 1.99 cm(
-1); the nature and magnitude of the ferromagnetic exchange is preliminaril
y discussed on the basis of its structure. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. A
