Abstract
A new synthesis for tricarbonyl-chromium complexes of 2,5-dimethylphenyleth ene, 1-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)propene and 1-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)isobutene is d escribed. The procedure consists in a diastereoselective complexation of co rresponding carbinols or their acetates folio wed by an acid catalysed elim ination reaction. Starting from optically active reagent, this method provi des a convenient route to optically pr,re 1-arylalkene complexes.
