After reading all the texts published by John Paul II that directly concern the nature and vocation of women, it becomes evident that he makes a harsh critique of Western forms of feminism. It seems important, therefore, to e xplore briefly the Pope's understanding of this social movement, especially his reasons for placing himself at odds with it.
