Abstract
A synthetic approach to the CD-ring system of vitamin D, is described in wh ich intramolecular Diels-Alder reactions of chiral dienynylsulfoximes proce ed in excellent yields. The effect of matched and mismatched carbon and sul fur configuration on the stereoselectivity of cycloaddition is reported.
