Abstract
The total synthesis of fagomine and its congeners 1-3 has been achieved sta rting from D-serine-derived Garner aldehyde 5 by catalytic ring-closing met athesis (RCM) for the construction of the piperidine ring followed by dihyd roxylation. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
