Abstract
Neutron diffraction studies of the diffuse features around main and sa tellite reflections of high quality single crystals of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x (Bi-2212), show that extra 'forbidden' reflections and other anomalou s diffuse features are a function of crystal quality and not part of t he inherent crystallographic structure.
