Abstract
The isolation and characterization of poly(beta-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) and 2-O-alpha-D-galactopyranosylglycerol (floridoside) from the red a lga Plocamium cartilagineum are described. This is the first reported occurrence of PHB in a macroalga. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All r ights reserved.
