K. Mannon et al., A COMPARISON OF 2 MOTION ANALYSIS SYSTEMS FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF 2-DIMENSIONAL REARFOOT MOTION DURING WALKING, Foot & ankle international, 18(7), 1997, pp. 427-431
The purpose of this study was to compare two-dimensional rearfoot moti
on during walking measured by a traditional video-based motion analysi
s system to that of an electromagnetic analysis system. Twenty-five in
dividuals (15 men, 10 women) with a mean age of 29.8 years served as s
ubjects for this study. The results of the study showed that there was
a high correlation (r = 0.945) between the mean motion paths produced
by the two systems, indicating that they were very similar. The elect
romagnetic motion analysis system was able to produce these similar re
sults in a fraction of the time required by the video-based system.
