Abstract
2 alpha -Bromocholestan-3-one treated with Grignard reagent prepared from d ibromomethane afforded 3-bromomethylcholest-2-ene. Its reactions with chrom ium(III) salts, sodium, and N-bromosuccinimide-2, 2'-azobis(2-methylpropion itrile), respectively are described.
