Combinatorial approaches to affinity chromatography

A new armoury of protein purification tools is required to support rapid ad vances in high-throughput genomics and proteomics, which are predicted to l ead to the discovery. isolation, characterisation and manufacture of a numb er of new biopharmaceutical proteins. Computer-aided molecular design, comb inatorial (bio)chemistry and high-throughput screening techniques are now b eing exploited to identify highly selective ligands for use in the purifica tion of these proteins by affinity chromatography.
