Abstract
Measurements of the critical current I-c along the c-axis as a functio n of the parallel magnetic field H clearly demonstrate the intrinsic D C Josephson effect on small area stacked junctions fabricated from per fect single crystal Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 whiskers with in plane size L less t han 20 mu m. For large values of L a dimensional crossover to monotono us size independent behaviour of I-c(H) is observed. Overlap stacked a nalogues of long Josephson junctions have also been developed. Flux-ho w steps on current voltage characteristics (IVC) of those junctions ha ve been found in high parallel magnetic fields due to a collective mot ion of the Josephson vortex lattice.
