Abstract
A discography lists the recordings made by a musician during his career, th ose released as well as unreleased takes and versions. In recent years, the re are more and more releases of the complete recordings of famous musician s. Should these collections include only officially released pieces of musi c, or should they include anything taped in the studio and during concerts! This question calls for thought about both the characteristics of interpre tation and the notion of a jazz musician's "works".
