Jn. Erin et al., PARTICIPANTS ATTITUDES ABOUT THE INTEGRATION OF DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED PEOPLE AT A CENTER FOR ADULTS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS, Journal of visual impairment & blindness, 91(4), 1997, pp. 325-340
The study reported in this article explored the responses of individua
ls who were being served by an agency for adults with visual impairmen
ts to the increasing inclusion of people with developmental disabiliti
es in addition to visual impairments in the agency's activities. Quali
tative approaches, including observations, interviews, and a focus gro
up, revealed frequent examples of problem-solving, and a survey admini
stered to 24 participants found widely diverse attitudes.
