Abstract
In this article the distribution of the transverse component of magnetizati on of recorded tracks is extensively studied for different track widths and various recording frequencies by using the spin-stand imaging technique [M ayergoyz , J. Appl. Phys. 87, 6824 (2000)]. It is demonstrated that for nar row tracks the transverse magnetization component can be quite substantial and it significantly protrudes toward the track center.
