FERROMAGNETISM OF PD FINE PARTICLES

The field-dependent magnetization consists of the saturated ferromagne tic component and the paramagnetic one which increases linearly with i ncreasing field. The saturation magnetization decreased steeply with i ncreasing temperature below 80 K. The temperature dependence of the hi gh-field susceptibility resembles to that of the Pd bulk. These result s support the picture that a Pd particle consists of the ferromagnetic surface and nonmagnetic core.
