We prepared non-equilibrium Eu-Fe alloy thin films by co-evaporation,
and studied their structural, magnetic and transport properties. The m
agnetization of the Eu-rich Eu-Fe alloy exhibits a small, but distinct
kink at an external field of about 80 kOe and the magnetoresistance c
hanges from positive to negative values at this field. We interpret th
at this anomaly is due to breakdown of the helical spin structure of E
u by the addition of Fe.
