Magnetic properties of intermetallic compounds La1-xNix (0 < x less th
an or equal to 0.4) are studied and magnetic phase diagram is determin
ed. M-T dependence of La2Ni7 shows a sharp peak, suggesting antiferrom
agnetism with T-N = 56 K. LaNi3 may be an antiferromagnet with T-N = 2
8 K. Neutron diffraction study detects no magnetic moment, suggesting
that La2Ni7 and LaNi3 show itinerant antiferromagnetism.
