Neutron diffraction studies of Er0.9Y0.1 and Er0.8Y0.2 alloy single cr
ystals have revealed that a spin configuration of both crystals is not
conical, but cycloidal in the ac-plane even at low temperatures. The
cycloidal structure has higher odd harmonics up to the fifth order alo
ng the c-axis. These magnetic amplitudes and phase angles are determin
ed on reasonable assumptions.
