A study on the direct applicability of a set of grooves of multi-roll wiremills for different materials

Investigations were carried out on the direct applicability of a set of gro oves of multi-roll wire mills for different materials having different stre ss-strain curves. Special evaluation was made on the stability of the geome try among different materials when rolled under the same mill setting condi tions. Influence of inter-stand tension generated by the change in roll for ce due to the difference in stress-strain curve was studied both numericall y and experimentally. A group of three-roll and four-roll-type mills is sup erior to two-roll-type mill in getting rid of the time for mill setting.
