FT Raman spectroscopy was used to characterize a set of five newly synthesi
zed 5-nitroquinoxaline derivatives 2,3-disubstituted with 2-pyrrolyl, 2-fur
yl, 2-thienyl, phenyl and 2-pyridyl groups. Afterwards the 5-nitroquinoxali
nes were electrochemically reduced to 5-aminoquinoxalines and electropolyme
rized as films on the Pt electrode coated with porous Au. Comparing the SER
S spectra of polymers with the Raman spectra of monomers, a mechanism of po
lymerization has been suggested. Specific spectral and electrochemical prop
erties of films based on pyrrole substituted 5-aminoquinoxaline were verifi
ed by electropolymeriration of 2,3-dipyrrol-2 ' -yl-5-nitroquinoxaline with
