Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce and investigate a conjecture abou t cyclotomic units made by Robert Coleman. The conjecture is a characteriza tion of Euler Sytems of Kolyvagin in the case of number field. We show that Euler Systems are almost cyclotomic units. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
