Abstract
This paper deals with a conservative Monte Carlo method for the Boltzm ann equation, which allows to take into account long time steps as wel l as small ones. Numerical results for the Boltzmann equation and for the Kac model are compared with those of the classical Direct Simulati on Monte Carlo (DSMC) method.
