Abstract
Temperature treatment during ovarian recrudescence influenced temporal chan ges in plasma testosterone (T) and oestradiol-17 beta (E-2). In fish expose d to 8 and 12 degrees C early in the cycle the peaks uf both T and E-2 were delayed by 4 weeks in comparison with those of fish held at 4 degrees C th roughout the experiment. These differences were accompanied by correspondin g shifts in the timing of ovulation. (C) 2001 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
