Abstract
Second-harmonic generation (SHG) was observed in silicate glass contai
ning Ga2O3 after electrical poling treatment. The SHG intensity was st
rongest at the poling temperature of 250 degrees C and for the glass c
ompoition of 7.5Li(2)O . 7.5Cs(2)O . 25Ga(2)O(3) . 60SiO(2) (mol%). Th
e second-order nonlinear coefficient d(33) was as large as similar to
13% of d(22) for LiNbO3.
