Alkamides and phenethyl derivatives from Aristolochia gehrtii

From the stems of Aristolochia gehrtii, the cis-N-feruloyl-3-O-methyldopami ne and a hemiacetal derivative of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural were isolated, to gether with twenty-two known compounds. These compounds include five lignan s, three terpenes, six alkaloids (five alkamides), two benzoic acid derivat ives, and six phenethyl derivatives. The structures of the isolated compoun ds were determined by means of spectroscopic methods and comparison with li terature data.
