Abstract
TiI4 is soluble in the liquid ammoniate NaI .3.3NH(3). Ti(IV) can be reduce d to Ti(III) at a smooth Pt electrode at -1.63 V vs. ferrocene/ferricinium ([Fc](0/+)) couple. This reduction seems to be a quasi-reversible reaction. No further reduction to metallic titanium is observed. (C) 2001 The Electr ochemical Society. [DOI: 10.1149/1.1374217] All rights reserved.
