Abstract
We give a quite comprehensive representation of the spatial behavior o f the Wolf effect for Gaussian Schell-model beams, based on isoshift l ines ans transverse shift profiles. This representation immediately ac counts for many effects previously noted on the redshift and the blues hift Gaussian Schell-model beams in propagation. The maximum blueshift , which occurs on the axis, and the maximum redshift are also calculat ed. This analysis can be extended to other classes of beams that under go the same spectral variations.
