Abstract
Layered cobalt oxides and heavy-fermion compounds are quantitatively compar ed from the viewpoint of thermoelectric materials. These two systems exhibi t anomalously large thermopowers with good electric conductivity, which is attributed to a strong electron-electron correlation. In certain materials the pseudogap increases at low temperature, which further enhances the ther mopower.
