Abstract
We report our experience with short course directly observed therapy (DOT) in six human immunodeficiency virus-infected children who had a poor respon se to their prescribed therapy. Four to days of DOT resulted in a significa nt drop in the viral load of all six children, demonstrating that short cou rse DOT is an effective way to document poor compliance with antiretroviral therapy.
