Abstract
Through a detailed spectral analysis of the propagation of square-shaped la ser purses in optical fibers, we provide the experimental demonstration of the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam recurrence phenomenon in modulationally unstable optic al waves ruled by the nonlinear Schrodinger equation.
