Abstract
In this Letter we revisit the subject of integrability in systems with infi nite degrees of freedom. We will show via combined analytical and numerical results that such systems cannot be integrable if the solitons possess int ernal modes. The potential sufficiency of the condition is also discussed. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
