Abstract
A mesoscopic Josephson junction in a superconducting ring enclosing a magne
tostatic flux with dissipation is considered in the Wigner-function formali
sm. It is shown that for weak dissipation the state of the junction can evo
lve in a quantum superposition of two coherent states which exhibits quantu
