An expression for the ponderomotive force of high frequency electromagnetic
waves in a warm two-fluid collisional plasma in an ambient magnetic field
is obtained by a microscopic method. In addition to the previously known re
sults of collisionless plasmas, the expression contains a term that explici
tly reflects the resistive dissipation caused by collision between electron
s and ions. This term is similar to the one obtained for an isotropic plasm
a by using the Vlasov equations, taking the dissipation by the resonant int
eraction of particles with the waves into account. It is also similar to th
ose obtained by macroscopic methods. The range of the collision frequency f
or the validity of the result is presented along with other parameters, and
