Abstract
The adiabatic bulk and shear moduli, and their temperature derivatives, of polycrystalline modified spinel of composition (Mg0.91Fe0.09)(2)SiO4 were d etermined by means of the resonance sphere technique at ambient pressure. T he adiabatic bulk and shear moduli, respectively, are 165.70 and 106.25 GPa at 300 K. The temperature derivatives of the adiabatic bulk and shear modu li, respectively, are -0.016(3) and -0.012(1) GPa/K at temperatures between 278 and 318 K, which do not agree with those of Li et al.
