The surface of incompatible blends of PC with PEO and polystyrene with PEO-
polystyrene diblock copolymers with different ratios between the block leng
ths was studied by the method of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Due to p
hase segregation, the surface of the above blends was found to be enriched
with PEO. As was shown, copolymer additives are characterized by a higher c
ohesion to a polymer than a pure PEO and produce a surface layer which is m
ore stable to ablation with water.
