Analysis of Carbaryl in water samples was performed by on- line Solid Phase
Extraction Supercritical Fluid Chromatography Diode Array Detection (SPE-S
FC-DAD). Parameters controlling the extraction and chromatographic separati
on were studied and optimised. Comparison with off-line SPE procedure was a
chieved. Degradation of Carbaryl in aqueous and methanolic solutions was al
so considered. The detection limit of 5 ppb Carbaryl in water samples was a
chieved, at 210 nm, with a good reproducibility, and the duration of one cy
cle is about 35 minutes.
